Due to the new second wave of COVID-19 sweeping India, Realme has agreed to delay its upcoming releases. On May 4, the company was supposed to hold a launch event to reveal a new flagship phone based on the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. The Realme X7 Max, a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo that was released earlier in China, was widely expected to be the name. At the launch case, Realme was also expected to unveil a new Realme TV, most likely the Realme TV 4K 43-inch model.
Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth announced in a new tweet that the company’s forthcoming releases and anniversary celebrations will be postponed as India faces unparalleled challenges. “After close thought, Realme has agreed to delay the launch of the forthcoming mobile and AIoT devices, as well as anniversary celebrations,” reads the tweet. Let us concentrate on contributing as best as we can in these trying times. Stay at home and be strong! We’ll be back shortly.”
Sheth also included a short note urging all Indian people to observe COVID-19 safety protocols. “I implore you to concentrate on your families and yourself. It is beyond time for us to band together and embrace one another as a community,” the note concludes.
After careful consideration, #realme has decided to postpone the upcoming smartphone and AIoT products’ launch along with anniversary celebrations.
In these difficult times, let’s focus on contributing as much as possible.

While the upcoming May 4 launch event stands cancelled, Realme has not offered any details on when the event will be held now. The company is likely to wait for lockdown restrictions to subside before announcing a new launch date. In any case, Realme’s annual anniversary celebrations, which take place in May, have been canceled. During this time, the company usually holds a sale with attractive offers and discounts.
When the Realme X7 Max is released, it is expected to come with a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 main sensor could be used in its triple rear camera configuration. The phone’s battery is expected to be 4,500mAh.
