Many popular applications including Spotify, Pinterest, and TikTok were publishing iOS crash reports as a result of obvious Facebook SDK problems based on a long GitHub thread on Wednesday evening.
Downdetector logged tens of thousands of Spotify user crash reports from 3:30 to 5:30 pm (PT) the time the majority of reports occur in many common applications. At publication time, rumors of user crash seemed to be dying down.
Users recorded that immediately after startup their apps were shut down.
For several users, it will probably inform you that many of their favorite apps connect to Facebook servers immediately at launch. Tech companies are using Facebook‘s SDK to support the company’s login platform for additional insights. Early reports suggest that users affected by the issue do not have to be utilizing Facebook login for the issue to affect them, early reports indicate.
